Local Missions

June's missions focus is Brazil.

This month, we are focusing on our church's ministry in Brazil. To find out more of what our team will be doing, check out our Brazil page. Our team will be in Brazil this month, so we are asking church members to pray specifically for them and the people they will be serving in Brazil.

As a special emphasis this month, we will ask church members to give money to purchase a pair of shoes in Brazil for the Happy Feet ministry our team will be helping with during their trip. Each pair of shoes will cost $15, and members are asked to make their checks out to First Baptist Church, with "Brazil Shoes" in the subject line. In coming weeks, we may introduce other ways to give to this missions effort.

April and May's local ministry focus was The Bridge Ministry.

The Bridge Ministry works with the homeless of Nashville. Each Tuesday, they meet under the Jefferson Street Bridge for a hot meal and a time of worship. FBCG will be joining this effort for the months of April and May. We will be helping serve the meal, participating in worship, and loving on the people of our city.

Each Sunday, we will also be gathering items for our Christmas backpack project. Last Christmas, we were able to provide 100 backpacks filled with warm clothing, toiletries, and Bibles for Bridge Ministry participants. Watch the Wednesday News or the Sunday bulletin to know which items to bring each week. We will also be joining the Bridge Ministry in prayer for some specific needs they have. Prayer cards are available in the foyer with these needs listed.
